Although the Federal Police (Fedpol) has yet to decide on the duration of the current passport design, the document is typically updated every 10 to 15 years. Should adjustments be necessary, a new design will be ordered, hopefully maintaining the balance of aesthetics and function that the Swiss passport so expertly achieves.
