Wish-Making Foundation North Texas inaugurates innovative office space, infused with uplifting spirit

In the heart of North Texas, a new headquarters for Make-A-Wish North Texas has been designed to provide a warm and welcoming environment for children with critical illnesses. The innovative space, led by President and CEO Kim Elenez, aims to give these children a chance to simply be kids, away from the stresses of their health journeys.

Erin Jones, a journalist who was raised in Richardson and is proud to call North Texas home, recalls her passion for journalism beginning in elementary school. In her 5th grade graduation memory book, she wrote that she wanted to be a journalist. Today, her work continues to be inspired by the spirit of North Texas.

Make-A-Wish North Texas has been a beacon of hope in the region since 1984, granting over 14,000 wishes locally. The organisation's mission, rooted in imagination, is to create life-changing experiences for these children. According to Elenez, the power of a wish can significantly improve a child's health journey.

Research from Nationwide Children's Hospital shows that Wish kids have better outcomes. A child who receives a wish is less likely to spend time in the hospital, ICU, or ER. This underscores the transformative impact that Make-A-Wish has on the lives of these children.

The new headquarters is a testament to this mission. It includes comfy seating, a tree hideout, a fun music corner, a hidden door, and a toy room. Every corner of the space is designed to inspire imagination and provide a haven of comfort and fun for the children.

Elenez says that the space comes with a few surprises. On North Texas Giving Day, she hopes supporters will help keep the momentum going. Every donation made during this day, according to Elenez, makes an impact.

Globally, Make-A-Wish has granted over 600,000 wishes. In Texas, this organisation continues to make a difference, one wish at a time. As Erin Jones continues her journalistic journey, she will undoubtedly report on the inspiring work of Make-A-Wish North Texas, reminding us all of the power of a wish to change a child's life.
