The 46th Rheingau Wine Week: A Ten-Day Celebration of Wine, Music, and Camaraderie

From August 11th to August 20th, 2023, the heart of Wiesbaden will transform into a vibrant hub of wine, enjoyment, music, and conviviality as the 46th Rheingau Wine Week unfolds.

The event, part of the Festivals and Events in Wiesbaden, will feature a diverse range of attractions, including the participation of esteemed vineyards such as Sekt House Solter and Weingut Keßler.

The centre of the action will be the square in front of the Marktkirche, where you can indulge in a wide variety of Rheingau wines. For those seeking guidance, the Wiesbaden lives! wayfinder can help locate wineries, food stands, and other attractions with ease.

One unique activity not to be missed is the Memory game. In this engaging challenge, participants are required to recognise winemakers' faces and match them to their respective wine stands within 60 seconds. Correct pairings may result in a free glass of wine. This game, created two years ago, promotes concentration and visual memory, adding an extra layer of excitement to the festivities.

If you're a fan of wine and social media, don't forget to use the hashtag #rieslingsfreunde to share your experiences.

For music lovers, the festival offers live performances every day at three stages—Town Hall, Market Church, and Dern'sche grounds. Genres range from lounge beats, rock, pop, blues, reggae, 80s/90s hits, soul, and modern Latin jazz. Some highlights include "Your boys" cover music and DJ Peter Latino’s electric beats on August 11th, and JJJ-Trio (Modern Latin Jazz), Fräulein J. & the Tournedos (German Schlager), and Max Headroom (rock & blues) on August 17th.

Guided Wine Tours with Tastings, led by Katharina Höfling, former Rheingau Wine Queen and German Wine Princess, are also available. This two-hour tour on August 15th at 5 p.m. offers insight into the wines and personal introductions to six local winegrowers. Tickets are still available for this event.

For more information, including the complete musical lineup and stand plan, visit Wiesbaden’s official site. To participate in the Memory game, simply take a screenshot of your game results and send it to redaktion@unsure website.de.

Whether you're a connoisseur or a novice, the 46th Rheingau Wine Week offers something for everyone. So come along and join the celebration!
