Vibrant Audio Combines with Positive Energy in Miami
In the heart of Miami, the Gale Hotel recently underwent a significant transformation, thanks to the collaboration between Interlink Group and Designer Digital Systems. The audio systems for five restaurants within the hotel were designed, built, and programmed by these two companies, with LEA Professional amplifiers playing a key role.
Bruce J. Alaimo, the owner of Designer Digital Systems, expressed positive feedback about LEA amplifiers and their tech support team. He has used these amplifiers in multiple projects and plans to continue doing so in future endeavours.
The Connect Series 704, a versatile amplifier from LEA Professional, was the chosen model for this project. Each amplifier provides 700 watts per channel and supports Hi-Z (70V or 100V) and Lo-Z selectable by channel. This flexibility was crucial for the project, as Designer Digital Systems planned to use a variety of speakers from major brands.
Five CS704 amplifiers were installed in the mezzanine MDF room, powering the restaurants on the 1st floor, while eight CS704 amplifiers were deployed on the 9th floor, powering the three restaurants there. In total, 13 Connect Series 704 amplifiers were used, providing a combined output of 36,400 watts at 70V for the venue's speakers.
The choice of LEA Professional amplifiers was not solely based on their power capabilities. Alaimo also appreciated the size-to-power ratio and the flexibility of full DSP for crossover and speaker tuning of all major brands. The Connect Series includes 96kHz DSP, offering benefits that significantly enhance audio performance and system versatility.
The use of LEA Professional amplifiers made the project design easier due to the availability of speaker tunings. LEA Professional had speaker tunings for all the speakers that Designer Digital Systems planned to use, streamlining the design and installation process.
One of the project's unique challenges was a drywall installation error in the main zone of the 1st floor restaurant. However, the Smart Power Bridge technology from LEA Professional was employed to overcome this issue, saving the main zone and ensuring the audio system functioned as intended.
The Connect Series is also equipped with LEA Cloud, enabling AV teams to remotely control and monitor amplifiers from anywhere. This feature proved invaluable during the installation and commissioning phases, allowing for efficient troubleshooting and adjustments.
The audio system at the Gale Hotel Miami, developed by Bang & Olufsen, has been a resounding success. The combination of great sound, reliability, and a fair price offered by LEA Professional amplifiers played a significant role in this achievement. With the installation complete, the restaurants within the hotel now boast superior sound quality, ready to provide an unforgettable auditory experience for patrons.
