Urban development showcase unfolds in Bremen on 25th November: urban transformation exhibition debuts

Urban development exhibit launches in Bremen on 25th November, showcasing changes and future possibilities within the city's urban landscape.

In the heart of Bremen, a vibrant urban development exhibition is set to captivate residents and visitors alike. Organised by CityInitiative Bremen Werbung e.V., this exhibition invites everyone to form their own impression of the current happenings in Bremen City Centre, running from November 25th to December 21st at Lloyd Passage 7.

The exhibition promises a glimpse into the city's multifaceted urban development, with a focus on private projects such as the Balgequartier, the Surwerk commercial quarter, and the Q45 at Breitenweg. But it's the city's commitment to sustainable urban growth, heritage preservation, and academic infrastructure expansion that truly sets Bremen apart.

One of the most anticipated projects on display is the Constructor University Masterplan. This €500 million strategic partnership between Constructor Group and developer Ten Brinke aims to double enrollment at the university to 5,000 by 2031. The first development phase involves constructing new student residences, expanding university housing capacity, and building a science park, new academic and research facilities, and an aparthotel. Construction is anticipated to start by mid-2026.

Another intriguing project is Ellener Hof, a climate quarter focused on sustainable, resource-efficient urban living. This innovative project exemplifies forward-thinking architectural and environmentally conscious approaches, with a compact residential building just 3 meters wide providing intelligent and space-efficient living solutions in the city context.

The transformation of the former Kellogg’s grain silos into the John & Will Silo Hotel is another significant urban regeneration project, integrating industrial heritage with modern hospitality and office spaces. This adaptive reuse project preserves the site's historic identity while contributing to Bremen’s waterfront revitalization.

Carolin Reuther, Managing Director of CityInitiative Bremen Werbung e.V., explains that the exhibition provides insights into the active redesign of Bremen City's city centre. The exhibition is free and open to the public every Wednesday to Saturday, between 12:00 and 18:00.
