Underwater instructional courses for youngsters
In the heart of Bavaria, the city of Ingolstadt is set to host a series of swimming courses for children in 2025. Organised by the Ingolstadt Water Safety Patrol, these courses aim to help children learn basic swimming skills and gain confidence in the water.
Under the motto "Ingolstadt swims - learn to swim too!", the courses will be offered at five different swimming pool locations around the city. The locations and courses are as follows:
- Erlebnisbad Aquamarin in Gaimersheim: Offering Babyschwimmen I, Babyschwimmen II, Kleinkinderschwimmen, BASIS Schwimmkurs, and AUFBAU Schwimmkurs.
- Schwimmbad Christoph-Kolumbus-Grundschule in Ingolstadt Nord: Offering BASIS Schwimmkurs and AUFBAU Schwimmkurs.
- Sportbad Ingolstadt Süd: Also offering BASIS Schwimmkurs and AUFBAU Schwimmkurs.
These courses are designed for children with no or little prior swimming knowledge. The courses will progress from baby swimming (starting at 3 months), to toddler courses (from 15 months with parental involvement), to independent swim courses for children from 4 years old, ending with achievement badges after course completion.
Each course will consist of ten sessions and will be held in the city of Ingolstadt. The exact duration of each course and the participation limits are not specified, but individual attention is guaranteed to ensure each child receives the best learning experience. For precise details on course length and number limits, contacting Schwimmschule Wassermäuse directly or visiting their official website is recommended.
In addition to the courses offered by Schwimmschule Wassermäuse, the city of Ingolstadt and the Ingolstadt Water Safety Patrol will also offer swimming courses for children aged six and up in 2025. These courses will take place at the Ingolstadt Sports Bath (Jahnstraße 5a).
Whether your child is a beginner or has some swimming experience, these courses provide a fantastic opportunity to learn essential water safety skills and build confidence in the water. So, mark your calendars, as the swimming courses for children in Ingolstadt will commence at the end of the summer holidays in 2025.
While the courses in 2025 focus on improving children's swimming abilities and water safety, it's worth noting that Ingolstadt also promotes an 'outdoor-living' lifestyle through events like these. Furthermore, to complement their 'home-and-garden' lives, families can engage in outdoor-living activities by exploring the city's natural spaces and gardens after completing the swimming courses.
