Uecker-Randow will host Meiersberg's grandest Oktoberfest celebration
The small town of Meiersberg in the Uecker-Randow region is gearing up for the return of a beloved local festival, the Pomeranian Oktoberfest. After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the community, in partnership with event organiser BT-Events, is set to bring back the festivities this year.
Patrick Dahlemann, head of the State Chancellery (SPD), emphasised the importance of social cohesion, stating that events like the Pomeranian Oktoberfest serve to bring together all generations. The festival, organised with Melody Events, promises to be a celebration for the entire community.
BT-Events will be responsible for setting up an 800 square meter tent, handling entertainment, guest catering, and even bringing the Pomeranian Brass Band to the event. DJ Melody will also be present, adding to the lively atmosphere.
The granting committee was convinced of the importance of the Pomeranian Oktoberfest, with Patrick Dahlemann presenting the grant decision for the KULT-Oktoberfest. The community has secured a sponsorship sum of 2000 Euro from local businesses, and the Vorpommern Fund of the state awarded a grant of 4000 Euro for the festival.
Mayor Marko Schnell and community representatives have been busy decorating for the Oktoberfest, hanging flags, organising beer mugs, pretzels, and both non-alcoholic and alcoholic beer.
The first Pomeranian Oktoberfest was held in 2013, with the event growing to become the largest in the Uecker-Randow region. However, due to increasing costs and the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival was discontinued for the past two years.
Despite the challenges faced in securing sponsors in rural regions, Dahlemann acknowledges that the Vorpommern Fund is there for such support. He believes that events like the Pomeranian Oktoberfest play a crucial role in fostering community spirit and social cohesion.
Unfortunately, due to limited information available, details about Oktoberfest Meiersberg 2021, its sponsors, or the context of its return following COVID-19 cancellations could not be verified at this time. If you are seeking more general information on Oktoberfest events and typical COVID-19 impacts, please let us know, and we would be happy to help.
Regardless, the community of Meiersberg is excited to welcome back the Pomeranian Oktoberfest this year, and we look forward to seeing the festivities unfold.
