The 156th Osterholz Harvest Festival, one of the city's oldest events, is set to return from August 8 to August 11. Organised by the 54-member Harvest Festival Committee of Osterholz, this year's event promises a lively programme filled with music, food, and family-friendly activities.

The festivities will officially commence at 6 PM on Friday, August 8, with the opening ceremony. The evening will be illuminated by a lantern parade at around 9:15 PM, followed by a spectacular fireworks display by Jens Mindermann at 10 PM. The after-fireworks party will take place in the festival tent, featuring DJ André Nalin from Bremen and a closing time of 3 AM, for a fee of 10 euros.

On Saturday, August 9, the day will begin with a family afternoon starting at 3 PM. This event will feature fairground attractions, face painting, balloon artists, and a flea market. For those interested in participating in the flea market, registration can be done by emailing [email protected]. The party for adults on Saturday is themed "Village Love" and will feature DJ Maurice Durand and DJ Benice, with an entrance fee of 10 euros. The children's disco will also take place in the festival tent at 5 PM.

Pea soup will be served in the festival tent at around 11 AM on Sunday, August 10, and a festival service will take place at the same location at 10 AM. The big festival parade will start at 2 PM on Sunday, in front of the town hall. Prizes of up to 300 euros will be awarded for the most beautiful festival floats in the parade.

The event will conclude on Tuesday, August 12, with a second pea soup meal at 11 AM in the museum complex. A reception with musical accompaniment by Jörg Heckert will take place instead of the usual festival concert on Monday, August 11. Participants are encouraged to bring their own flowers for wreath making, and the wreath making kick-off of the Harvest Festival will take place on Friday, August 8, starting at 2 PM in the festival tent.

Daily Afterwork parties will take place without an entry fee, with DJ André Nalin demonstrating his skills until 1:30 AM.

The 156th Osterholz Harvest Festival is a testament to the city's rich history and vibrant community spirit. Whether you're a local or a visitor, there's something for everyone to enjoy. For more information, please visit the official website or contact the Harvest Festival Committee.

On Sunday, August 10, families can gather for a traditional pea soup meal in the festival tent at around 11 AM. Following the meal, take part in the wreath making kick-off of the Harvest Festival in the festival tent, starting at 2 PM.

To add a touch of fun and relaxation to your home-and-garden lifestyle, visit the flea market on Saturday, August 9, during the family afternoon event, or join the daily Afterwork parties featuring DJ André Nalin without an entry fee.
