Tourism House: The action is being initiated

After a series of delays, the House of Tourism in Stuttgart's market square is gearing up for a grand opening, with further areas set to open from mid-August. The historic building, previously the Breitling fashion house, has undergone a significant renovation, costing an estimated 20.4 million euros.

The House of Tourism will house several attractions, including the i-Point, the rooftop terrace, and the Knitz of the Trautwein brothers. While the i-Point and the Knitz of the Trautwein brothers are expected to open this summer, the exact opening date for the rooftop terrace is yet to be confirmed.

The i-Point, a popular tourist information centre, will offer visitors a wealth of information about Stuttgart and the surrounding region. The Knitz, initially known as the rooftop terrace, will provide a cosy seating area with around 50 to 60 seats, perfect for a relaxing break.

Employees of Stuttgart Marketing GmbH and Tourism Marketing Baden-Württemberg GmbH have already moved into their offices in the House of Tourism. The ground floor, which will house various tourist-related services, will be open from 9 am to 11 pm, while the rooftop terrace, initially expected to open in September, will be accessible from 10 am to 10 pm, with flexible hours.

During the Wine Festival, the rooftop terrace will initially operate with a smaller menu. The terrace will have seating for 60 people and can accommodate a maximum of 180 to 200 guests at a time. The goal is to have construction site facilities removed from the market square by the start of the Wine Village on August 21, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the House of Tourism's offerings.

The House of Tourism's budget currently stands at 23.8 million euros, with a municipal subsidy totalling 21.5 million euros. The conference rooms in the House of Tourism are now available for use, adding to the building's versatility as a hub for tourism and events.

Despite the challenges faced during construction, the House of Tourism is expected to be fully operational by the start of the Wine Village on August 21, offering visitors a new and exciting tourist destination in the heart of Stuttgart. For the most up-to-date information on the rooftop terrace's opening, visitors are advised to check official Stuttgart tourism websites or contact the House of Tourism directly.

The House of Tourism, formerly the Breitling fashion house, aims to offer a blend of information and relaxation with attractions like the i-Point, the Knitz, and a home-and-garden escape on the rooftop terrace. Although the exact date for the rooftop terrace's opening is yet to be confirmed, visitors can expect a cosy seating area when it opens, adding a lifestyle element to the existing tourist offerings.
