The SchlauRaum Science Festival, a joint initiative by Münster Marketing, the University of Münster, FH Münster, and the University Clinic Münster, is transforming the city into a bustling science campus from July 5 to 11, 2025. With the overarching theme of “Why? How? Healthy?”, the festival explores health in a broad sense, encompassing human, animal, and environmental health.

The festival's emphasis on One Health is particularly noteworthy, as demonstrated through a pavilion featuring interactive exhibits and presentations by renowned researchers like Prof. Stephan Ludwig and Dr. Friederike Jansen. Visitors can participate in disease outbreak simulations to better understand and predict how interventions can contain infectious diseases.

The remaining days of the festival, from July 10 onwards, continue to offer a wealth of activities. The city's Stubengasse serves as an open-air auditorium, hosting thematic booths, interactive exhibits, lectures, and technology showcases focused around health sciences and innovation.

On the final day, July 11, the 3D Center will showcase 3D printing innovations, showcasing cutting-edge technology applications in medicine and beyond. This presentation adds to the festival’s interdisciplinary appeal.

Throughout the festival, the public can engage in various events, such as practical emergency preparedness lectures, exercises, a blackout parcours, and a teddy clinic for children, all offered by the FH Münster. The city's climate department will also examine the city's climate and how climate change affects urban spaces in an open-air auditorium at the Stubengasse on July 11.

The festival's themes extend beyond health to include the future of health, digital health, body, mind, and soul, and climate. The "Schnippeldisco" of the "Foodsharing" initiative turns rescued vegetables into a delicious meal in the town hall inner courtyard, while the city's climate department discusses urban climate and the effects of climate change.

For a precise daily timetable or lectures, consulting the official festival program or website closer to or during the event would be recommended. The public announcements focus on the general themes and highlights rather than detailed scheduling.

The SchlauRaum Science Festival is funded by the Sparkasse Münsterland Ost Foundation and the Allianz for Science. For more information and updates, visit www.schlauraum-ms.de.

Exploring the extended themes, visitors to the festival on July 11 can attend a discussion on urban climate and the effects of climate change at the Stubengasse, led by the city's climate department. Meanwhile, the Schnippeldisco of the "Foodsharing" initiative, located in the town hall inner courtyard, transforms rescued vegetables into a delightful meal, tying into the festival's focus on lifestyle and home-and-garden matters. As the festival continues to explore health in a broad sense, it also delves into environmental science by discussing climate change. Furthermore, the festivities are not limited to health sciences, with presentations on digital health, body, mind, and soul.
