On Sunday, August 17, 2025, the picturesque town of Kaltenlengsfeld will host a special occasion – the 50th Anniversary of its Church Choir. This momentous event will be part of the Linden Festival, a celebration that promises an afternoon filled with music, memories, and community.

The festivities will take place on the Linden Festival grounds, a typical outdoor venue near the historic linden tree or church square, depending on local tradition.

A Day of Music and Celebration

The schedule for the day is packed with performances and events designed to honour the choir's five decades of musical ministry and community contribution.

The day will commence with an Opening Ceremony at 10:30 AM, featuring a welcome speech by the church pastor and choir director, followed by an introduction to the festival and the significance of the anniversary.

At 11:00 AM, a Special Church Service will take place, featuring the choir performing jubilee hymns and sacred music. This service will also involve longtime choir members and community guests.

After a break for refreshments at 12:30 PM, the Afternoon Concert Program will begin at 2:00 PM. This part of the event will showcase the Church Choir performing classic and contemporary choral pieces, with solo performances by notable choir alumni and special guest music groups.

At 4:30 PM, the Children’s Choir and Youth Performance will take centre stage, offering a glimpse into the next generation of church singers.

The event will conclude with the Closing & Thanks at 5:30 PM, followed by Festival Mingling and Music from 6:00 PM onwards. During this time, informal music sessions will take place around the linden tree, and festival-goers will have the opportunity to join in singing or dancing.

Performers and Participants

The Kaltenlengsfeld Church Choir will be the main event performer, with several choirs from local schools, guest choirs from nearby towns, soloists, and instrumental ensembles joining them. Notable past choir members will return to perform special solos, and local musicians will play organ, strings, and wind instruments to support the choir pieces.

The local children's folklore dance group will also perform during the celebration, adding an extra touch of tradition and cheer. Former choir directors and pastors have been invited to share their recollections and thoughts, making this event a true celebration of the choir's history.

Event Details and Accessibility

Admission to the Linden Festival is free, although donations are welcome to support choir activities. Parking will be available near the festival grounds, and signage will be provided. The event site is wheelchair accessible.
