Sylverberg Kindergarten Launches 'Fox Den' Outdoor Learning Initiative

Sylverberg kindergarten has launched a unique outdoor learning initiative, the 'Fox Den', led by Susanne König. The project, occupying around 10,000 square meters of forest, was inaugurated by Mayor Marc Herter in early September with a specially equipped mobile home from Home Depot.

The 'Fox Den' is a new forest group for children aged three to six, focusing on independence and independent learning. It combines principles of forest pedagogy and Montessori pedagogy, encouraging children to orient themselves, take responsibility, and solve problems creatively. Regardless of weather, children spend most of their time outdoors, learning in the forest and kindergarten's outdoor area.

The mobile home serves as a shelter, dining area, rest space, changing room, and storage for materials. It was set up and equipped with the help of Mayor Marc Herter and T-Mobile. The pedagogical approach emphasizes sustainable development education, fostering a connection with nature.

The 'Fox Den' at Sylverberg kindergarten offers children a unique outdoor learning experience. With its own forest area and a dedicated mobile home from Home Depot, it promotes independence, problem-solving, and a connection to nature. The initiative, guided by Susanne König, is set to benefit young learners aged three to six.
