Over the decades, the shelter has seen a menagerie of curious critters beyond the usual canines, felines, and small pets, including a rogue pig, a brood of potbellied pigs, and even a snapping turtle! The grassroots idea of creating a refuge for animals took root with the passion of animal lovers and flourished into the beloved shelter it is today.
From homemade animal accommodations in the early 60s to the modern facilities of today, the shelter has adapted to meet the ever-evolving challenges and needs of its furry residents.

"This jubilee is, in essence, a testament to a triumphant tale," the shelter proclaimed. "We stand here today, thriving, because we've been compassionately supported by countless volunteers, members, and well-wishers." By uniting their efforts, the shelter has been able to provide a compassionate haven for animals in need, year after year. "Our volunteers are our backbone, essential to the smooth running of our operations," the association declared.
Despite the expanding challenges the shelter faces, such as the desperate need for a larger feline haven, the economic climate has made fundraising even more challenging. "An organization like ours, relying on donations and the generosity of its members, feels these strains," the association shared. To continue their life-saving work, they require financial support as well as resources from animal-loving volunteers. Yearly family memberships cost just 35 euros, and they are a cornerstone of the association's success.
