Supermarket El Rancho to Celebrate Restart in Dallas with a Grand Unveiling
Heritage Grocers Group Launches Customer-First Initiatives and Unveils Renovated El Rancho Supermercado Store
Heritage Grocers Group (HGG), the largest Hispanic and ethnic food retailer in the United States, has made a significant stride in community support and philanthropy. During the GroceryTech event, the company's CEO announced a series of customer-first initiatives led by the Heritage Grocers Giving Foundation.
The foundation engages customers directly through in-store fundraising campaigns, where shoppers can round up their purchases to the nearest dollar to support local community programs. The inaugural campaign raised over $105,000, which was donated to organisations like Olive Crest and the Child Abuse Stops Here Network. The funds benefit programs offering safety, healing, and hope to at-risk children.
This customer-involved approach strengthens community ties across HGG’s multiple store banners, including Cardenas Markets and El Rancho Supermercado, in six states.
In addition to these philanthropic efforts, El Rancho Supermercado, one of HGG’s banners, has unveiled a renovated store in Dallas. The revamped store features a modernized Fresh Mercado, a vibrant produce department, an expanded Tortillería, and an updated Cocina.
The El Rancho Supermercado store in Dallas also offers a loyalty program, where participating customers receive points, e-coupons, and more. The store has lowered prices on thousands of popular items as part of the Super Gangas campaign, offering significant discounts.
The El Rancho Supermercado store in Dallas also offers a Panadería with specialty pastries, desserts, cakes, specialty items, and pan dulce, all baked fresh daily. In-store dining, affordable Daily Deal options, and freshly baked specialty items and pan dulce are also available.
The Tortillería provides authentic corn tortillas in addition to flour tortillas made from scratch. A new sushi station offers a wide selection of fresh sushi, hand rolls, and more.
The El Rancho Supermercado store in Dallas features a Carnicería staffed with expert carniceros, an authentic Mexican Cocina, and a produce department boasting farm-fresh produce.
Following the ceremony, a parking lot event featuring live mariachi music, folklorico dancers, product giveaways, and samplings will commence. The first 300 customers will receive a $20 El Rancho gift card and a free reusable tote bag, while supplies last.
The El Rancho Supermercado store in Dallas will continue to operate daily from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. HGG operates in six states - California, Texas, Nevada, Arizona, Kansas, and Illinois - with a total of 114 stores. The company, Ontario, Calif.-based HGG, is No. 70 on The PG 100, Progressive Grocer’s 2025 list of the top food and consumables retailers in North America.
Manos y Corazones Unidos, El Rancho's philanthropic arm, will donate over $46,000 to local nonprofits, including Pleasant Grove Food Bank, Dallas Independent School District, and Olive Crest.
The El Rancho Supermercado banner of Heritage Grocers Group is holding a grand reopening for its store at 1515 South Buckner in Dallas on July 2. The store underwent significant interior and exterior renovations.
The company is also implementing various customer-first initiatives, such as partnerships with Instacart, Caper, and RELEX, to define what it means to be a modern Hispanic and tech-forward grocer.
These initiatives demonstrate HGG’s customer-first focus by actively involving shoppers in meaningful social impact efforts linked to their grocery purchases, thereby enhancing customer engagement and loyalty through shared values and community support.
