Ghost Treasure Hunt Aboard the Fantom Boat in Montreal

Embark on an unforgettable adventure this summer with the Ghost Treasure Hunt on the Fantom boat in Montreal! This interactive event offers a spooky and engaging experience for older children and teenagers, combining storytelling, puzzles, and exploration.

The Ghost Treasure Hunt is designed to provide a fun, age-appropriate ghost-themed adventure that encourages teamwork and problem-solving in a unique setting. The event takes place aboard the Fantom boat, a pirate ship moored at Jacques-Cartier Pier, and mixes elements of storytelling and exploration tied to the haunted history and legends associated with the ship.

During the treasure hunt, participants will learn to tie sailor's knots, walk like ghosts, and defend the ship with water cannons as they work together to uncover the treasure. The boat's route remains repetitive, but the focus is on the thrilling quest rather than the landscape.

Four departures per day are available until August 24, after which the boat will offer twilight cruises without the treasure hunt from August 25 to October 15, only on weekends and holidays.

For detailed information about booking, age requirements, timing, and safety measures, it is best to consult the official Fantom boat event organizers or local Montreal event listings directly. The website of Navark, the company behind the river shuttles, can also be visited for more information.

While the treasure is said to contain an antidote to break the curse, the pirate crew of Orion and Zephyr is preparing for their own transformation. The children on the ship are guided by these pirates to overcome challenges in search of the treasure. Captain Bracco, an invisible specter, is monitoring the ship and may be heard during the journey, adding to the eerie atmosphere.

The Fantom boat's animators show great enthusiasm during the treasure hunt, ensuring that the experience is enjoyable and engaging for all participants. However, it is worth noting that the story may be too complex for younger children, and the challenges are considered too simple for 10-year-olds. The three daughters who accompanied the author during the day, aged 7, 10, and 11, did not participate in the treasure hunt. The two older ones have outgrown such adventures, but they hope for scenarios for an older audience in the future. The youngest preferred to play with the wheel, but all three enjoyed listening to the thrilling tale of Orion and Zephyr.

In addition to the bungee jump performed from the Convoyeurs Tower during the journey, the Old Port offers a novelty that adds to the excitement of the Ghost Treasure Hunt. For those who are not ready for the treasure hunt, the Fantom boat also welcomes evening passengers for "twilight cruises" without the treasure hunt, providing a more relaxed experience to enjoy the scenery of Montreal's Old Port.

  1. For a unique blend of arts, entertainment, and lifestyle, consider a twilight cruise on the Fantom boat, where you can enjoy the scenery of Montreal's Old Port, even without the Ghost Treasure Hunt.
  2. The Ghost Treasure Hunt, apart from its thrilling tale and puzzles, offers a taste of fashion-and-beauty as participants learn to perform ghostly walks and sailor's knot tying.
  3. During the treasure hunt, food-and-drink enthusiasts can relish the excitement while overcoming challenges alongside the pirate crew, making the event a celebration of the lifestyle and home-and-garden aesthetics of a pirate ship.
