Sitegeist Unveils Robotic Solutions to Revolutionize Construction
Aiina Robotics, a startup focused on revolutionising construction processes, has rebranded itself as Sitegeist. The Munich-based company aims to bring innovative robotic solutions to construction sites within the next year, with a broader vision for the industry's future.
Sitegeist's journey began as a spin-off from a bachelor's thesis by founder Julian Hoffmann. Joined by Claus Carste, Lena Pätzmann, and Nicola Kolb, the team set out to address construction's productivity challenges and labor shortages. Their solution? Intelligent, modular robots designed for complex environments.
The company's first target is high-pressure water jetting for concrete renovation, a demanding task currently performed in shifts due to its intensity. Sitegeist's robots, equipped with revolutionary safety technology, will work alongside humans, ensuring a safe and efficient process. The company's software-based approach enables automation of complex surfaces like corners, edges, and columns for the first time.
Sitegeist's biggest hurdle is developing a technically robust product that can withstand construction site conditions. However, the Munich startup scene, known for its research-intensive environments and supportive community, has been instrumental in their progress. In five years, Sitegeist aims to expand its vision to cover a large part of the building renovation process.
Sitegeist, formerly known as Aiina Robotics, is poised to transform the construction industry with its innovative robotic solutions. Within a year, the company aims to have a functioning product on construction sites, with a broader vision for the industry's future in the next five years. Despite the challenges, Sitegeist's commitment to patience and sustainability ensures a stable foundation for real change in the construction sector.
