Rödermark Launches 2026 Plan to Boost Walking and Cycling
The city of RoederMark has initiated a project aiming to significantly boost walking and cycling usage by 2026. The ambitious plan, named 'Traffic Alternatives Cycling Plus Walking', will see the development of a comprehensive concept to optimize and expand existing infrastructure. Two dedicated working groups, 'Foot RoederMark' (AG Foot) and 'Bike RoederMark' (AG Bike), along with a planning office VAR+, will guide the process.
The project, led by the city, will create a 'Classified Cycling Network' (RCN) divided into levels such as 'Commuting Routes', 'Basic Routes', and a 'Dense Network' covering major connections. Central to the project is citizen participation, with workshops and an interactive online map allowing residents to share their input and help tailor the concept to local needs and wishes. The specific planning group working on the pedestrian and cycling network optimization and expansion remains unclear, as does the expected completion date.
RoederMark's project aims to increase walking and cycling usage by 2026, with a focus on citizen involvement. The concept will include strategic walking connections and a classified cycling network. While the planning group and completion date are yet to be announced, the city is committed to creating a more walkable and bike-friendly environment.
