Rivian Opens Hamptons Charging Outpost, Celebrating Adventure and Community
Rivian, the electric vehicle manufacturer, opened its Hamptons charging station over the weekend. The event, attended by Matt and Tracy Kennel, was not just about charging but also about bringing together fellow Rivian owners and celebrating their shared love for adventure.
The Kennels, along with other Rivian owners like Ian Newman, enjoyed a variety of activities organised by Tony Caravano, head of Experiential Marketing and Community Engagement at Rivian. The event included a drive-in movie, a gym takeover, and a kayaking trip, reflecting the adventurous spirit of Rivian owners who appreciate the vehicle's massive off-road capability and 300-mile range.
Meanwhile, a Tesla owner at a standard charging station, half an hour away, remained unaware of the Rivian charging station opening, highlighting the unique community Rivian is building around its vehicles. The Hamptons charging station attracted an estimated 500 visitors over the two days, with one owner even setting up an espresso machine to share with fellow Rivian enthusiasts. The charging station also offered upscale snacks like tinned fish, mushroom jerky, and green olives, adding to the luxurious atmosphere.
The Rivian Hamptons charging station, with its year-round local events, promises to be more than just a place to recharge vehicles. It's a hub for Rivian owners to connect, share experiences, and celebrate their choice of vehicle.
