Participants delight in the sixth annual Moers Environment Day, showcasing wonder and engagement in environmental initiatives.
After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Moers Environmental Day is set to return on Sunday, September 21, 2022. This collaborative event, organised by the city or local authorities of Moers, aims to promote environmental awareness and sustainability.
The inaugural Moers Environmental Day was held in 2013, and since then, it has been a biennial event, except for the pandemic years. The day is initiated by a collaboration between several entities, including the city of Moers, LINEG, ENNI Stadt & Service, NABU Moers/Neukirchen-Vluyn, the hunting association, and representatives of agriculture and beekeeping.
Visitors can expect a variety of interactive activities and creative workshops. Falknerei zur Eiche offers activities about birds of prey, while children can participate in a petting zoo and animal pedagogical programs. Creative activities include making seed balls, animal painting, and riding the soap bubble bike. The beekeeping association will offer candle-making and a queen hunt.
For those interested in learning more about green spaces, tree care, and pest control, ENNI Stadt & Service will provide insights. Meanwhile, the Moers Hunting Association will offer information about hunting. The Leo Club Moers will provide food for the attendees.
A highlight of the day will be a raffle of 100 fruit trees and 98 herbs at specific times. The Grafschafter Museum and Musenhof will have open doors at the end of the event.
The event takes place at various stands from clubs, associations, and organizations from 11 am to 5 pm. The Moers Environmental Day is a great opportunity for the community to come together and learn about environmental issues, while enjoying a day filled with activities and workshops.
