Outdoor Voices welcomes Ty Haney once more, introducing a fresh line of apparel
Outdoor Voices Relaunches with a Fresh Direction
Outdoor Voices, the activewear brand known for its commitment to movement and daily activities, is set to unveil a new chapter after its acquisition by Consortium Brand Partners and the closure of its store footprint. The brand's website now boasts a sign-up page to grant early access to the upcoming launch, hinting at a strategic pivot towards innovation and a renewed focus on its core ethos.
The brand's Instagram feed has also been wiped clean, replaced by a video reintroducing its founder, owner, and partner, Tyler Haney. Haney, who stepped down from Outdoor Voices in 2020 amid financial challenges and conflict with Mickey Drexler, has returned to lead the company's creative and strategic reset.
A Fresh Start with a Familiar Face
Haney has spent the past nine months reimagining a collection for the brand. The new line, set to debut on Aug. 4 for Haney's Try Your Best community and Aug. 5 for everyone else, is described as "fashion-y" with a perspective that takes cues from the original brand. Haney emphasizes that the new product maintains the original Outdoor Voices ethos of functional and comfortable activewear, while introducing fresh product designs.
The collection honors the brand's heritage while embracing innovation. Haney describes the new product as having the same sensibility as original OV in terms of material, technical credibility, and functionality. The brand's mission, as encapsulated in the phrase "Doing new things," is a testament to this approach.
Expansion Plans and a Brighter Future
Consortium Brand Partners, which also owns Draper James and Jonathan Adler, acquired Outdoor Voices in an unknown year. With the deeper resources provided by the consortium, Outdoor Voices intends to expand into new categories, enter wholesale and specialty stores. Consortium Brand Partners also plans to open Outdoor Voices locations in the future, possibly in 2025.
As Outdoor Voices embarks on this new journey, it remains committed to its foundational "doing things" community spirit. The brand's relaunch, symbolized by the August 2025 collection drop, looks to reaffirm Outdoor Voices’ core ethos while adapting to current consumer expectations.
