New additions to the Offenbach Carnival Club

The Offenbach Carnival Club (OKV) has officially begun its new campaign with a spectacular event, the "Fireworks of Good Mood", held at the city hall. The occasion was marked by the appointment of new honorary members and the introduction of the new prince couple.

At the heart of the event, Gertrud Marx, chairwoman of the Tempelsee settlers' community and honorary city councilor, was appointed to the honorary council of the OKV. Joining her are Kim-Sarah Speer, a member of the state parliament, and Anja Kofahl, chairwoman of the Offenbach cultural committee and an enthusiastic visitor of carnival events.

Lukas Kreher, former Lederbaron from Obertshausen, and Silke Seeger, granddaughter of Alfred Seeger, who was Landesverweser of Lederania from 1954 to 1999, were also appointed to the honorary council. The five new members, including Wolfgang Kehl, Hans Peter Locher, Jürgen Meinhardt, Helmut Müller, and Norbert Reinheimer, will provide advisory support to the board, drawing on their experience and longstanding commitment to the OKV.

The new prince couple of the OKV is Prince Marcus I and Princess Karin IV. The town hall storm, a traditional highlight of the carnival season, is scheduled to take place on February 15, 2025, starting at 10 a.m. with a visit to the weekly market. Following the town hall storm, there will be a free stage program on the town hall square for all carnival fans.

This year's carnival season is expected to be a "real carnival success story" due to a well-filled calendar and the active support of numerous honorary members and supporters. The OKV has over 100 upcoming events during the carnival season. An autograph session will take place at the KOMM Center from 11 a.m.

The OKV's chairman, Andreas Hümmer, and Senate President Ursula Ölcer, expressed their gratitude to all sponsors for their commitment, which ensures the diversity and liveliness of the carnival tradition. The Offenbach Carnival Club (OKV) looks forward to another exciting carnival season filled with laughter, music, and camaraderie.
