New 80-apartment skyscraper erected in Moosach, Munich
In Moosach, a well-renowned district, the F.X. Meiller company's footprint reaches beyond just truck production in their facility's vicinity. The former company grounds, neighbors the S- and U-Bahn station Moosach, have been transformed in recent years into the "Meiller Gardens": a residential development encompassing 620 apartments, a boarding house, and two kindergartens.
Among its components, the Meiller high-rise stands tall. Under construction at Memminger Platz, this striking structure, in collaboration with Rathgeber AG, is poised to captivate the eye architecturally, boasting a complex, intricate, and visually striking white façade, complete with a plastic quality.
The stepped and glistening white top two floors, now visible to passersby in Moosach, display a unique dynamic. The designers elaborate that a rotation effect will be visible between floors, giving the high-rise an unprecedented aesthetic appeal.
Each of the 80 rental apartments within the complexly designed high-rise is a unique offering. The architects at Allmannwappner, winner of an international competition for their "distinctive and high-quality" proposal, have ensured that no floor plan shares the same layout. The twisted high-rise, conveniently located near the Moosacher S-Bahn station, is a testament to thoughtful, innovative design.
Slated for completion in January 2026, the high-rise will include 78 one to three-room rental apartments, including senior apartments, with lofts on the upper floors. Residents will have access to 104 underground parking spots and a rooftop terrace boasting an expansive view over Moosach.
To cater to nearby MVV commuters and residents, a supermarket and café will soon inhabit the ground floor of the high-rise. The first and second floors will house medical practices and businesses.
Complementing the residential focus of the Meiller Gardens, a cultural villa at Memminger Platz is currently under renovation to accommodate restaurants, cultural events, offices, and ateliers, aiming to cultivate a lively mixed-use environment in the development. The presence of the Meiller company in the area remains intact, as their production site has been modernized, ensuring a blend of commercial, residential, and industrial activities in the vicinity. The Meiller high-rise, part of this dynamic quarter, promises to be a notable architectural addition to Moosach.
