The Pilgrimage’s Enduring Legacy:
This pilgrimage in Eichlberg can be traced back to an event that occurred in 1688. In those days, the sexton's wife, Margarethe Lutz, from the neighboring village of Neukirchen, experienced a vision. A voice urged her to erect a chapel dedicated to the Holy Trinity atop the 582-meter-tall Eichlberg. The vision birthed a pilgrimage, resulting initially in the construction of a statue, later replaced by a church consecrated in 1711.
