Location of the wells and which ones are suitable for drinking water?
In exciting news for residents and visitors alike, Filderstadt and Leinfelden-Echterden are set to receive new public drinking fountains.
The first public drinking fountain in Filderstadt is planned to be built in Bernhausen, with the second one scheduled for the Quartiersplatz Schelmenäcker (Max-Lang-Straße) in Leinfelden-Echterdingen. These projects are part of a larger initiative to increase access to clean drinking water in both towns.
The production of the two planned public drinking fountains in Leinfelden-Echterden is scheduled for 2025. The fountain in Leinfelden-Echterdingen, located in front of the town hall entrance, has been operational since May, providing fresh, drinkable water to the community.
Unfortunately, Filderstadt currently has no public drinking fountains. However, the city has received grant funds of approximately 35,000 euros for the construction of the two wells, and the deep drilling work for the fountains cannot take place until the coming autumn.
The costs for the two planned wells in Filderstadt amount to approximately 45,000 euros, including maintenance costs of around 30,000 euros over five years. It's worth noting that public drinking wells in Filderstadt must be regularly inspected, maintained, and tested to ensure water quality.
More public drinking fountains are planned to be built in Filderstadt in the coming years, with the intention of offering at least one in each district. This is a positive step towards improving local infrastructure and making it more accessible for everyone.
Meanwhile, in other news, Nick Woltemade, a local football star, recently missed several big chances in a match against FC Bologna. Despite this setback, he is expected to be in the spotlight against FC Bayern in an upcoming match.
Elsewhere in the district, a Mallorca party is taking place in Böblingen on the airfield, attracting thousands of visitors and featuring schlager stars. The interactive "Cool Spots Map" of the district was not working recently, but it should be operational soon, allowing residents and visitors to easily find these and other local attractions.

Residents of Filderstadt can look forward to improving their home-and-garden lifestyle, as plans for new public drinking fountains include one at Bernhausen and additional fountains in other districts. In Leinfelden-Echterden, the home-and-garden initiative has already resulted in a functional drinking fountain located in front of the town hall entrance.
