Fiesta Latina Returns to Mercer County Park

The third annual Fiesta Latina celebration is set to take place on Saturday, September 6, at the Mercer County Park Festival Grounds. This vibrant event, which is a highlight of the summer for families in Mercer County and across the region, will be hosted by renowned DJ Ralphie Mercado.

County Executive Dan Benson highlighted the event, stating that it celebrates Latino culture and heritage. The Fiesta Latina brings together individuals from many different cultures and countries, including Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Ecuador, and Mexico.

This year's Fiesta Latina features an impressive lineup of performers. Limi-T 21, a trio from Puerto Rico with gold and platinum records, the legendary Johnny Ray, and Colombian accordion player CJ are just a few of the acts set to take the stage.

The day's festivities will also include 12 food trucks offering a variety of Latino foods, authentic craft vendors, and a children's area with face painters.

Krystal DeLeon, a board of directors member of the Trenton Puerto Rican Community and Friends Organization, emphasised the unifying power of the festival, stating that it brings the community together. Last year's Fiesta Latina attracted almost 7,000 visitors.

The event is partially funded by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and the Department of State, partners of the National Endowment for the Arts. September is National Hispanic Heritage Month, making the Fiesta Latina a fitting celebration.

The Fiesta Latina is a family-friendly event, welcoming everyone, particularly those who enjoy music and food. Beyond the Fiesta Latina, Mercer County has a variety of other cultural and community events planned, including music festivals, performing arts, farmers markets, and educational programs.

At the Fiesta Latina, attendees can enjoy a diverse range of music performances from acts such as Limi-T 21, Johnny Ray, and CJ, alongside an array of food trucks offering authentic Latino cuisine. Beyond the Fiesta Latina, Mercer County offers a plethora of other cultural activities, including food-and-drink experiences, home-and-garden events, and entertainment shows.
