Issaquah's New Attraction Unveiled: Children Invited to Play in the Sand Garden
The Sand Garden, a new indoor play space, has recently opened its doors in the heart of Issaquah, a town that local parents Graham and April Quinn have grown to love since moving there.
This unique play area offers a sensory-rich environment designed to benefit brain development, language skills, fine and gross motor skills, and social skills. The Sand Garden caters to children aged 4 years and older, with two large sandboxes totalling 1,400 square feet of sand.
The sandboxes are kept clean through daily raking and sifting, wetting, and the use of water and vinegar-based solutions. Toys in the sandboxes are sanitized daily, ensuring a safe and enjoyable play experience for all.
For those who need a break from the sand, The Sand Garden provides a cafe-like seating area where parents and caregivers can relax. Children may find it difficult to leave, as they may try to negotiate for more play time.
The Sand Garden offers a variety of programs to enrich learning experiences and foster community. These include fossil digs and toddler meet-ups. Graham Quinn, one of the founders, plans to organize future events such as a March Madness basketball “Watch and Play” event.
In addition to the play areas, The Sand Garden also offers a free Wi-Fi area with child-size picnic tables for those who want to work or relax while their children play. The facility also boasts two bathrooms, one of which has a changing table.
When it comes to refreshments, The Sand Garden has got you covered. Cold waters, sparkling waters, juice boxes, canned soda, and packaged snack options such as Goldfish and applesauce pouches are available for purchase.
The Sand Garden is conveniently located within a mile of Top Pot and Starbucks drive-throughs, making it easy for parents to grab a quick bite or coffee before or after their visit.
For those planning a birthday party, The Sand Garden offers a private room, Beau's Shed, starting at $399 for up to 10 children.
The Sand Garden is more than just a play space; it's a place where children can learn, play, and grow in a safe and nurturing environment. If you're in the Issaquah area, be sure to check it out!
