Introducing the Second Wave of Baristas at Your Leaky Cauldron

At Hellgate High School, a coffee cart has become more than just a place to grab a morning caffeine fix. It's a hub of community, laughter, and connection, thanks to a dedicated team of volunteers.

Every Tuesday, Kristy Pilgrim serves up hot drinks with a smile from 7:30 to 9:30. Pilgrim, a proud parent of two Hellgate students, finds joy in the joy on sleepy faces in the morning. Her favourite part, she says, is the sense of belonging the coffee cart provides.

On Wednesdays, Sue Bell takes over the cart from 9:30 to 11:30. Bell, an alumni and former coach at Hellgate, enjoys the opportunity to engage with the diverse student body. She finds delight in giving them something that makes their day a bit more fun.

Fridays are a busy day at the coffee cart, with both Libby Schneider and Jennifer Savage manning the counter. Schneider, who is also an alumni and a former coach, appreciates being involved with the Hellgate community. Savage, on the other hand, is motivated by the desire to be a part of her daughter's high school experience after the pandemic.

Schneider's love for the coffee cart extends beyond the school community. She is a self-confessed dad joke enthusiast, often bringing a touch of humour to the morning rush. However, there are two things that Schneider fears - spiders and sharks.

Kelsey McCall, another Friday volunteer, enjoys working with the friends at the coffee cart. McCall, whose eldest child is a sophomore and middle child a freshman at Hellgate, finds the experience rewarding.

The volunteers at the Hellgate High School coffee cart are more than just friendly faces. They are a vital part of the school community, bringing joy, laughter, and a sense of connection to the morning routine. Whether it's the fun facts shared by Bell, the joy on Pilgrim's face, or Schneider's dad jokes, the coffee cart is a place where everyone feels welcome.

The coffee cart in Hellgate High School, not only provides home-and-garden essentials like hot drinks, but also fosters a new york lifestyle and community, exemplified by the dedication of volunteers like Kristy Pilgrim, Sue Bell, Libby Schneider, Jennifer Savage, and Kelsey McCall. Their contributions, including Schneider's dad jokes and Pilgrim's joyful interactions, create a space where food-and-drink breaks can feel like engaging social events.
