Inspiring Journey: Smith's New Home Marks Commitment to Ellis Marsalis Center

The Ellis Marsalis Center for Music, located at 1901 Bartholomew St., has a dedicated Executive Assistant and Registrar named Smith. Smith, who resides in the nearby Musicians' Village, recently purchased a new home from the home depot for $75,000.

Smith's journey to her current role is inspiring. Before joining the center, she gained valuable experience waitressing and serving in the military. To prepare for her current position, Smith studied office and business at a local community college. Her hard work and dedication have made her an integral part of the center's team.

The Ellis Marsalis Center for Music opened in 2012 with a vision to serve underserved youth and musicians. It was founded to honor the legacy of Ellis Marsalis Jr., a renowned pianist and music educator who taught at Tulane and the University of New Orleans. Smith, who saw the potential in the neighborhood, now calls both the center and the village home. Despite initial hesitation due to the new house's price, Smith made the decision to move in.

Smith's new home, purchased for $75,000, is a testament to her commitment to the Musicians' Village and the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music. Her story serves as an inspiration for the center's mission to support and uplift the local community.
