Heatwave of Excitement: Energetic Scene at the "LöschKids Heinsberg" Tour of the District Office in Olpe
In a unique and educational experience, 21 young members of the "Fire Kids" group from Heinsberg, accompanied by six adults, visited the district control center in Olpe on March 31.
The visit, organised by the Fire Department Kirchhundem, included an informative introduction to the center's operations. The young visitors were given a glimpse into the day-to-day activities of the control center team, who, despite ongoing operations, graciously allowed them to observe and learn.
The "Fire Kids" were well-prepared for this visit, thanks to their regular group meetings. Their eagerness to learn was evident as they took part in the tour, even managing to place a real emergency call to the control center.

The highlight of the visit was a special surprise for the young visitors - an RTW (emergency vehicle) from the Olpe district's rescue service. The RTW crew introduced the vehicle and answered the "Fire Kids'" questions about the tasks of the rescue service.
This visit marks a significant milestone for the "Fire Kids" from Heinsberg, as they are soon to transition to the youth fire brigade of the Heinsberg unit. The exact group of children set to make this transition is not yet clear, but their passion and dedication to firefighting are undeniable.
