Forest Fun for Kids Aged 8-11 During the Weekdays in November
The Forest School program, a unique outdoor learning experience, is operated by experienced educators who specialize in nature-based education. These sessions are designed for unaccompanied children aged 6 to 12 years old, providing a safe and supportive environment for exploration, creativity, and physical activity.
The main focus of Forest School is to encourage children to learn through direct experiences in the natural world. Activities often include nature exploration, crafts, games, and basic campfire cooking. Children might create nature mandalas or other crafts using forest materials, engage in outdoor games like ‘Captain’s Coming’ or pirate-themed adventures, and learn about safety and basic cooking techniques using campfires to make simple meals or snacks like s’mores or campfire toast.
Safety is a priority, and children are asked to dress appropriately for outdoor activities. Comfortable, layered clothing suitable for the weather, sturdy shoes, rain gear if necessary, and warm layers for cooler weather are recommended. Children must also wear closed-toed shoes and long trousers due to the presence of stinging nettles and midges.
Forest School follows the ethos of child-led learning, allowing children to explore and learn at their own pace. If your child has specific mobility needs that might affect their ability to fully access the session, please contact the organizers before booking to discuss any necessary accommodations. Wheelchair access is available at many Forest School sites, but it's advisable to check with the specific venue for details on mobility access.
Booking for the event is required, and spaces are limited. Specific payment details will be provided upon booking. Please note that booking for the event closes the day before it takes place. Children must be dropped off by an adult who confirms their emergency contact details with the staff member at the arrival point.
For more information, please visit the organizer's website or social media channels. Sessions for home-educated children and a separate session for children aged 11-16 are also offered at some locations.
Before booking, please familiarize yourself with the terms and conditions for family and children's events at this link:

As always, the safety and well-being of the children are the top priority at Forest School events. So, come prepared, dress appropriately, and get ready for a fun-filled adventure in the great outdoors!
