Festive Salute Deployed in Astana on Capital Day
Astana, the vibrant capital city of Kazakhstan, marked its annual Capital City Day on July 6 with a series of exciting events, including a festive concert and a breathtaking fireworks display.
The fireworks display, funded by generous sponsors, began at 11:00 PM, with the first shots exploding from the Botanical Garden. The display, which lasted for an impressive 5 minutes, featured over 1,700 shots, lighting up the night sky in a dazzling spectacle.
The concert, held at the Astana Arena stadium, was a highlight of the celebrations. It featured performances by popular domestic pop stars and creative collectives, entertaining the crowd with their music and energy.
Despite the lively atmosphere, some residents near the old square did not participate in the festivities. Meanwhile, those who witnessed the fireworks display expressed strong positive emotions, describing it as beautiful and touching.
The fireworks were set off from two locations during the display, adding to the visual impact and ensuring the entire city could enjoy the spectacle. Over a hundred diverse events were held in Astana to celebrate the occasion, making it a day to remember for all.
It's worth noting that while July 6 is not traditionally celebrated as the day of the city or capital in some interpretations, Astana Day or Capital City Day is a significant holiday in Kazakhstan, marking the decision to move the capital from Almaty to Astana in 1998.
The square behind the akimat's office, which has been under repair for a long time, unfortunately did not have benches installed for the occasion, leaving some residents without a comfortable spot to enjoy the festivities.
Despite this, the City Day celebrations in Astana were a resounding success, offering residents and visitors alike a memorable experience filled with music, fireworks, and community spirit.
During the celebrations, some residents reveled in the ambience of the home-and-garden setting of the Botanical Garden, where the fireworks display illuminated the night sky.
