In an innovative and interactive approach to education, a chicken mobile is visiting ten kindergartens in Garbsen this year, offering children a unique learning experience about responsible animal care and the origins of eggs.

The project, realised in cooperation with the company Leihhuhn.de, is currently providing a memorable experience for the children at the Murmelstein Family Center. Each kindergarten receives five tame Bantam Silk chickens, a chicken coop, fence, feed, and other accessories for the duration of the visit, which varies from two to three weeks, depending on preference.

Leihhuhn.de, a company founded in 2013, offers rental services for laying hens, and is delighted to be a part of this educational initiative. The aim of the project is to teach children where eggs come from, and to provide them with direct contact with the chickens.

The hands-on learning approach is proving to be well-received by the children. They are learning about responsible animal care, and gaining a unique experience in picking up freshly laid eggs from the nest in the morning.

Mayor Claudio Provenzano and Environmental Officer Randi Diestel are pleased with the reception of the chicken visit at the Murmelstein Family Center. They believe that such initiatives encourage a deeper understanding and appreciation for nature and animals among the younger generation.

The project is just one example of how education can be made more engaging and memorable for children, and it is hoped that it will inspire similar initiatives in the future. The chicken mobile is set to visit ten kindergartens this year, and the children are eagerly awaiting their feathered visitors.
