Eastern Europe's biggest food hall, Marketta Food Hall, will be housed at a local gallery.
Get ready, foodies! The city of Bucharest is about to witness a culinary revolution with the upcoming launch of Marketta Food Hall, the largest food hall not just in Romania, but across Eastern Europe. This epicurean extravaganza is all set to transform Bucharest's gastronomic landscape, offering a unique mix of gastronomic experiences for both locals and international visitors.
One United Properties, a leading green investor and developer in Romania, in partnership with experienced HoReCa company Tomcat Hospitality, will breathe life into this ambitious project. The venue will be nestled within One Gallery, a modernized and revitalized space emerging from the former Ford factory.
Marketta Food Hall is all about offering a smorgasbord of culinary delights, catering to both food enthusiasts and everyday diners. The food hall will showcase an ensemble of established local brands, along with exciting new international concepts. With an emphasis on quality and inclusivity, Marketta Food Hall aims to stand out from traditional food courts, creating an upscale dining experience reminiscent of a restaurant.
Spanning a sprawling 6,000 square meters of indoor and outdoor spaces, Marketta Food Hall promises an unparalleled foodie experience. Expect restaurants, lush terraces seating over 2,000, co-working spaces, a speakeasy-style members bar, 500 parking spaces, and more. The food hall's anticipated opening is slated for the third quarter of this year.
Cătălin Gheorghe, CEO and founder of Tomcat Hospitality, is excited about the impending transformation of Romanians' dining experience. He envisions Marketta Food Hall as a dynamic space that not only showcases culinary diversity but also boosts Bucharest's position on the global hospitality map. "Our vision is to create a vibrant space and a destination that not only celebrates culinary diversity, but also strengthens the city's position on the global hospitality map and transforms Floreasca into the main attraction of Bucharest, appealing to both residents and tourists," said Cătălin.
Mihai Paș roofiu, CEO Office Division at One United Properties, shares the same vision. He believes that One Gallery, with its multifunctional concept, will be a catalyst for transforming Bucharest into an international gastronomy and hospitality hub. "Through innovative projects such as this, we reaffirm our commitment to developing sustainable urban destinations that harmoniously blend architectural heritage with a modern vision of a dynamic city connected to global trends," Mihai stated.
One Gallery, home to Marketta Food Hall, is part of One United Properties' plans to revitalize the Floreasca area. After restoration, the gallery will house not only the unique food hall concept proposed by Tomcat Hospitality but also certified office spaces, a museum area filled with the building's history, and a multi-functional hall for theatre performances, cultural events, concerts, and conferences, all under the historic skylight that will cover the storey. The gross development value for One Gallery is estimated at a whopping EUR 100 million, marking the largest private investment in Romania for the restoration of a historic building.
