Historically, these fires have been a widespread custom throughout the Rhineland region, including Düsseldorf. They mark one of the key springtime festivities, often accompanied by community gatherings, music, food, and local celebrations.
Participating Organisations
A variety of local organisations, clubs, and community groups are involved in organising and running the Easter fires. These include volunteer fire brigades, local cultural associations, and neighbourhood clubs that collaboratively prepare the wood piles and coordinate festivities.
