Dubai's General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs to organize a substantial Eid Al Adha celebration for laborers

Get ready, folks! In 2025, Dubai's got a big bash planned for Eid Al Adha, and it's going to be nothing short of epic. Dubbed as "Let's Celebrate Eid Together," this event, organized by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA Dubai), is aimed at recognizing the hard work and sacrifices of the city's diverse labor force.

A Huge (and Hybrid) Party

The celebration kicks off with a congregational prayer, followed by a melding of culture, entertainment, and humanitarian activities. The event will stretch from 1:00 pm to 11:00 pm, with both on-site and virtual participation options. That's right, even if you can't make it in person, you can still join the fun via a live broadcast and digital interface!

On-site, you can expect a lively mix of music, dance, and art performances that'll bring together Dubai's multicultural labor force, creating a festive atmosphere that's as vibrant as the city itself. As for the virtual crowd, they'll have a chance to register and join electronic raffles for a shot at instant prizes.

A Gold Mine of Prizes

Prize-wise, more than 400 high-value goodies worth approximately Dh500,000 will be up for grabs. These range from smartphones and shopping vouchers to flight tickets, gold bars, and even cars! To make it easy for everyone, prizes will be delivered straight to workers' accommodations in labor zones.

United by Government, Humanitarian Efforts, and More

The event has drawn support from various entities, with Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du), Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Al Fattan, and flydubai as Golden Sponsors. Government entities like the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Dubai Police, DEWA, Dubai Municipality, Civil Defense, and Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services are also on board. Humanitarian partners such as the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment, Dubai Charity Association, and Beit Al Khair Society have also lent their support.

A Comfortable and Safe Experience

The venue will be equipped with air-conditioned tents, shaded seating, and designated zones for staff and organizers. Security and logistics personnel will work tirelessly to ensure a smooth, respectful, and well-managed experience for all.

Leadership Speaks

Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Deputy Director General of GDRFA Dubai, emphasized the event's significance. "This celebration embodies our core values and Dubai's inclusive spirit - putting people first," he said. Colonel Omar Matar Al Mezaina added that the hybrid format is a regional first. "It allows workers to join from wherever they are, even during peak hours, bringing joy to their lives and reaffirming GDRFA's commitment to the community."

With over 25,000 participants expected, this event is set to showcase GDRFA Dubai's continued leadership in people-centered governance. So, mark your calendars for June 6 and 7, 2025, and get ready to celebrar la vida Dubai-style!

In the spirit of inclusivity and celebration, the event's virtual platform will offer news and updates about the music, dance, and art performances, allowing virtual participants to get a taste of the lifestyle that Dubai has to offer. Furthermore, interested individuals can stay updated on humanitarian activities during the event, such as the distribution of prizes like cars and gold bars, through home-and-garden magazines, outdoor-living blogs, or social media networks.
