District Festival Offers Variety: Magic Show, Open Stage, and Breakfast in Colourful Lineup for Mockau
The vibrant "Colorful Mockau Summer" festival is set to take place in Leipzig on August 16th and 17th, with a diverse programme that promises fun for all ages. Since its inception in 2018, this neighbourhood development focus has been a significant event in Leipzig, promoting neighbourhood, diversity, and togetherness in Mockau.
This year's edition will see the band "Index F" taking the stage at 5 pm on Saturday, alongside a variety of artists who will perform throughout the festival. The programme also includes a flea market, face painting, glitter tattoos, giant soap bubbles, can tossing, an interactive circus, and craft activities. Local associations and initiatives will also use this festival as an opportunity to present themselves.
The festival will be held in a green space opposite Otto-Michael-Straße 16 to 22. For those interested in participating, registration via email at [email protected] is requested for the "Open stage for Mockau" on Saturday.
Food and drinks will be available from food trucks offering international cuisine, as well as grilled food, cake, and ice cream stands. On Saturday, the event starts at 11 am with a concert by Thomas Weber, and on Sunday, an open-air church service will start at 10 am. A community breakfast will follow at 11 am on Sunday, with live music by saxophonist Jon Triol.
