Continuing the Artistic Legacy in Family Portraiture through Photography
Juliana Satele, a dedicated photographer and digital artist, is making waves in the photography community of New Braunfels, Texas. Her passion for capturing moments that cannot be replaced stems from a childhood surrounded by photography, with her father being a diehard film photographer. This passion, however, was not without its challenges, as Juliana often missed out on many of her children's firsts due to working long hours.
Despite her daughter in the Army encouraging her to put the camera down and enjoy the moment, Juliana finds joy in creating memories through images. This drive to capture history as it happens has made her a familiar figure behind the camera.
Juliana's professional journey in photography began when she enrolled at Sessions College for Professional Design. She has no regrets about this decision, finding the institution highly recommended for a career in Professional Design. Sessions College offers Associate Degree programs and accepts military benefits, such as Chapter 35 and DEA, making it an accessible choice for Juliana, who is pursuing her education online while being a spouse to a disabled veteran and a mother to an active one.
At Sessions College, Juliana has experienced significant growth in her photography and art skills. The critiques and professionalism requirements have pushed her to improve, and she appreciates the hands-on nature of the education, focusing on creativity and skill development rather than just grades.
Juliana's dedication to her craft has not gone unnoticed. She is now a displaying member at New Braunfels Art League and Gallery for Photography and Digital Art, and she is starting to get involved as a displaying artist at the gallery. In addition, she is actively involved as a team leader for special events and a docent at the same institution.
Looking ahead, Juliana plans to join the local photographic society to continue learning and improving her skills. Her goal is to continue capturing history as it happens, and she finds it an honor to work alongside veterans and their families at the institution where she studies.
Juliana's family history in photography dates back to her great-grandfather who owned a camera shop. This long lineage of photographers has undoubtedly influenced her, but the specifics of this influence remain largely unknown. Regardless, Juliana's story serves as an inspiration to many, demonstrating the power of passion, determination, and the pursuit of knowledge in the world of photography.
In her pursuit of the perfect image, Juliana Satele is also seeking an online degree from Sessions College for Professional Design, which offers degree programs in home-and-garden design, in addition to her interests in photography. With her focus on capturing moments that tell a story, Juliana envisions expanding her skills in lifestyle photography, and incorporating home-and-garden elements into her work, creating a unique blend for both her professional and personal projects.
