Construction of the structure in Lürrip is now finalized
In the heart of the Lürrip district, WohnBau Mönchengladbach has recently completed a residential project on Langer Weg Street, offering affordable and sustainable living solutions to singles, couples, and small families. The newly constructed building, which was completed in just one year, consists of twelve modern, publicly subsidized apartments.
Each of the seven two-room and five three-room apartments is designed to meet the needs of small households, with rent capped at a low price of 6.00 euros per square meter (cold rent). This affordable housing option ensures that people with a housing entitlement certificate can find suitable living arrangements in the city.
The project, which was entirely leased upon completion, attests to the high demand for affordable housing in the area. The development is part of WohnBau’s commitment to the city's broader housing initiative, aiming to increase affordable housing options in the city.
The new building is heated with environmentally friendly heat pump technology, supported by photovoltaics, promoting energy independence for residents. Each apartment features its own PV panel, similar to a balcony power station, as part of the project's energy concept.
The city of Mönchengladbach is pleased with WohnBau's consistent work towards shared goals, with the Mayor expressing their satisfaction with the project. The project was financed in part by around €2 million in low-interest loans from the state, with the city not receiving surpluses from WohnBau's ongoing business activities.
The architectural concept for the multi-family house impresses with well-thought-out floor plans and sustainable, cost-effective construction methods. The building does not have a basement or an elevator, but the apartments are still designed to accommodate the needs of its residents.
This project reflects the city's collaborative efforts to provide affordable housing solutions through public subsidies and modern building standards in the Lürrip area. The project commits to environmentally friendly mobility, further emphasizing its commitment to sustainability.
