Classic Garagisti & Co. GP1 model: A vintage V12 powerhouse from the past

The Garagisti & Co. GP1, a new British sports car, is set to challenge the norm with its focus on delivering a pure, analog driving experience. This hypercar, priced at around €3.4 million with German VAT, stands out in the market by opposing the trend towards hybridization and driver assistance systems.

The power behind the GP1 is a bespoke 6.6-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine, developed by Italian motorsport specialist Italtecnica Srl. The engine delivers an impressive 588 kW/800 PS at 9000 RPM, with over 700 Newton meters of torque, promising thrilling performance and a spine-tingling mechanical soundtrack.

The transmission is a traditional 6-speed manual gearbox supplied by Xtrac, emphasizing driver engagement without the aid of hybrid or dual-clutch technology. The GP1's foundation is a carbon fiber monocoque, supplemented by motorsport components from suppliers such as Brembo and Öhlins, ensuring strong stopping power and a balanced driving experience.

The GP1's aerodynamically efficient design focuses on ground-effect downforce without aggressive wing appendages, inspired by classic supercar aesthetics and made with a full carbon-fiber body. The exterior design references the lines of legendary supersport cars from the 1980s to the early 2000s, while maintaining an independent and aerodynamically meaningful design language.

The interior follows the maxim of radical simplicity, with no large screens or unnecessary controls. This minimalist cockpit emphasizes pure driving connection, eschewing modern infotainment and digital distractions for a focused, clear driver environment.

Production of the GP1 is limited to 25 units, each hand-built in the UK and individually configured to customer specifications, making each GP1 unique. The first 12 buyers will have access to the development process of their GP1 through the "Open Doors" program, offering a unique opportunity to be part of the car's creation.

With a targeted dry weight close to 1,000 kg (about 2,200 pounds), the GP1 aims to convince as both a track tool and a grand tourer. The market launch of the GP1 is planned after the completion of the current testing phase. The price of a GP1 is £2.45 million plus taxes and transport costs, positioning the GP1 as a purist’s hypercar and a rare collector’s piece.
