Syssert's 293rd City Day Celebration

Syssert, a city in the Ural Mountains, celebrated its 293rd birthday on an unspecified date in 2022. However, detailed information about the celebration's events, performances, sports, and charitable activities remains elusive in online searches.

Despite the lack of comprehensive data, several key elements of the celebration can be highlighted. The festivities began with a procession of city labor collectives, marking the official start of the holiday. This was followed by the grand city celebration, which took place in various locations around the city.

The Palace of Culture named after I.P. Romanenko hosted the "Earthlings" program, an event that honoured residents who had made significant contributions to Syssert's development. City's honorary citizens, couples who got married just before the City Day, golden wedding couples, public figures, culture workers, educators, doctors, and SVO participants were among those recognised.

The city square played host to a traditional crafts fair and the "Syssertskoye Razdolye" festival. Several platforms also hosted competitions for textile panels, handmade dolls, a flower exhibition-contest, an exhibition-contest "Made by Men," and a children's fair "Darenkin Sunda."

The "Quilt for a Hero" blanket competition was another significant part of the celebration, with 35 items presented by various cities. The blankets from this competition were to be donated to Russian servicemen and veterans of the SVO.

Local children's creative groups and invited artists performed on the main stage, while the entertainment program "Happiness Comes with Song" featured cover groups such as "Bulgakov Band," "Recover," and live performances from ballet shows "Barbie Show" and "Granat." The event concluded with a fireworks display.

Municipal head Dmitry Niskovsky, regional legislature deputy Sergey Karjakin, local duma chairman Ilya Tugbaev, and chairman of the local war veterans' organization and assistant to State Duma deputy Lev Kovalenko, Igor Ushanov, also greeted residents and guests of Sysert with holiday wishes.

Larisa Mukhlynina, the festival organiser, mentioned that a master class on making blankets was held and launched on social media. The event gathered almost a thousand guests from the entire region.

It's worth noting that residents of Nizhny Tagil are also celebrating their city's 303rd anniversary, a fact previously mentioned but included here for coherence.

Despite the scarcity of information about Syssert's 293rd City Day celebration, it appears to have been a grand event filled with performances, competitions, and community gatherings. If you have any other sources or would like information on general city day celebrations, please let us know.
