Awista to Collect Christmas Trees in Düsseldorf Starting January 8, 2025
Awista, a waste management company, will be collecting Christmas trees in Düsseldorf starting from January 8, 2025. This scheduled post-holiday disposal service aims to ensure cleanliness and environmental responsibility in the city.
The collection will commence at 6 am each day and continue until late evening. Residents are advised to place their trees visibly at the curb for collection. It is important to note that trees should be free of decorations and not packed in plastic bags.
On January 8, 2025, the following districts will have their Christmas trees collected: Altstadt, Bilk, Carlstadt, Friedrichstadt, Pempelfort, Stadtmitte. The next day, on January 9, 2025, the collection will take place in Derendorf, Düsseldorf, Hafen, Hamm, Moersbroich, Unterbilk.
On January 13, 2025, Awista will collect Christmas trees in Heerdt, Lichtenbroich, Oberkassel, Rath, and Unterrath. The following day, Thursday, January 16, 2025, the collection day will be for Benrath, Flingern Nord / Süd, Hubbelrath, Knittkuhl, Ludenberg, Unterbach, and Urdenbach.
Wednesday, January 15, 2025, will see the collection of trees in Gerresheim, Grafenberg, Hassels, Himmelgeist, Holthausen, Itter. The collection for Flehe, Golzheim, Lohrick, Niederkassel, Oberbilk, Stockum, Volmerswerth will take place on January 10, 2025.
Residents of Eller, Garath, Hellerhof, Lierenfeld, and Vennhausen can expect their trees to be collected on Friday, January 19, 2025. For the districts of Angermund, Kaiserswerth, Kalkum, Lohausen, Reisholz, Wersten, and Wittlaer, the collection day is Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
It is requested that residents do not place their Christmas trees on the streets before the collection date to avoid littering. Trees up to two meters in length can be collected, and larger trees should be cut accordingly.
This initiative by Awista is a significant step towards maintaining cleanliness and promoting environmental responsibility in Düsseldorf. Residents are encouraged to participate and ensure their Christmas trees are disposed of properly.
