On a sunny Monday, despite the fickle festival weather that had caused interruptions on several days, the 55th Moers Festival offered a unique experience for its visitors. The Gerken company, in collaboration with the festival, provided a 60-metre high truck work platform, offering a panoramic view of Moers and the festival grounds.

Brave "moon travelers" braved the elements to enjoy the view, and many took the opportunity to support the Klartext für Kinder association. The cost for a ride on the platform was five euros, with all proceeds donated to the organisation.

Klartext für Kinder is an independent organisation that combats child and youth poverty in the cities of Moers, Neukirchen-Vluyn, Kamp-Lintfort, and Rheinberg. The association helps young people who often lack basic necessities, operating a unique model of social sponsorship with over 130 volunteers.

Birgit Banze, board member of Klartext für Kinder, expressed gratitude for the initiative. "We appreciate every euro donated," she said, "which can be used for various necessities like clothing, shoes, school supplies, and leisure activities."

Sebastian Wojcik, branch manager for Duisburg, Krefeld, and Wesel at Gerken, highlighted the positive atmosphere and interest in the action. The Klartext für Kinder association also acknowledged the weather challenges but appreciated the high interest in the action.

Beyond the Moers Festival, Klartext für Kinder works tirelessly to make a direct impact on the local community. The association's efforts were appreciated by Tim Isfort, artistic director of the Moers Festival, who emphasised the aim to offer a unique festival experience and encourage a change of perspective.

Looking forward, the Moers Festival team has already announced plans for another special action next year. With the success of this year's initiative, it is clear that the festival and Klartext für Kinder will continue to work together to support local youth in need.
