Celebratory Atmosphere, Long-standing Customs, and Social Bonding
The picturesque town of Epe, Germany, is gearing up for the third edition of the St. Katharina Shooting Guild's Summer Festival, scheduled from August 15th to 17th at Nienborger Damm.
On the first day, August 15th, the focus will be on young shooters from ten Gronau and Epe shooting clubs. The goal for the day is to crown the "Bültenkönig 2025," a title that will be determined during the competition.
The second day, on Saturday, August 16th, the festival will transition into a summer celebration. The day will commence with a traditional wreath-laying ceremony at 7 PM at the memorial, followed by the start of the summer festival. Approximately 70 to 80 seniors are expected to attend, with a sociable afternoon of shared coffee drinks planned for the older guests.
The winner of the shooting competition on this day will receive an order and a voucher for 20 liters of beer from Getränke Bügener. After the competition, there will be a young shooters' party with DJ "Der Schoemaker" providing music and ensuring a lively atmosphere and dancing from 8 PM onwards.
For the seniors, Sunday, August 17th, offers a special treat with the seniors' afternoon. The oldest male and female visitor will be honored this year, and the "Dinkel musicians" will provide musical entertainment. A few surprises are planned for the seniors' afternoon.
The festival tent, covering over 500 square meters, will be the hub of activities. In addition to the shooting competitions and parties, attendees can enjoy photo albums documenting the construction of the new toilet facilities, providing a unique insight into the guild's recent developments.
Entrance tickets for the seniors' afternoon can be purchased at Eper Volksbank "Auf der Sunhaar" and Getränke Bügener. For those interested in the young shooters' party, tickets will be available at the festival site.
Jannik Detert from the Hubertus Shooting Club Epe won the wooden bird from the stake in 2019, adding another exciting chapter to the festival's history. This year, the festival is happening in the shooting festival-free year, making it a unique occasion not to be missed.
Whether you're a seasoned shooter, a music lover, or simply enjoy a festive atmosphere, the St. Katharina Shooting Guild Epe Summer Festival promises an unforgettable experience for all. Stay tuned for more updates closer to the event.
