The special exhibition "Leaping Through Time - Bought, Swapped, Stolen?" delves into mpk's history during the Nazi era, with a focus on provenance research. Egle emphasized, "I felt it crucial we chip in to the reflection on our house's Nazi-era history this anniversary year."
The '50s building architecture gets a much-needed facelift, with a long-lost wall painting by Edvard Frank (1909-1972) making a comeback for the first time in decades. The collection's expansion continues through gifts, like ones from the Lenhardt Foundation and Utermann Gallery. Egle shared, "The museum urges community involvement and plans to unveil a donor gallery."
Admission will be free, and a futuristic digital platform is planned to help people get up close with the collection. Long-term projects like an outdoor depot in the old state central bank and rejuvenating the Aula demonstrate the museum's forward-thinking approach, all made possible by the Pfalz District Association's backing. Stunning sculptures by Franz Bernhard (1934-2013) and Maximilian Hutlett (1933-2018) join the party to celebrate the milestone.
