Winter is knocking on the door, and the city is gearing up with a staggering 1.3 million lights for the upcoming holiday season. From Sfatului Square's towering Christmas tree to the festive decorations gracing pillars and buildings, the town will be aglow with holiday cheer.
Catch the whiff of festive nostalgia this year, as the decorations are inspired by Santa Claus stories, donning the classic red and white. But we're not stopping there; lollipop sticks, globes, and gingerbread will be sprinkled throughout the city!
As George Scripcaru, our fearless mayor, puts it: "The Sfatului Square, Christmas Market, Council House, and - dare I say - the grand Christmas tree... The Council House will boast vibrant family statues in period costumes surrounding it, and the Christmas tree is just the cherry on top! The Alley under Tâmpa offers an enchanting walk for all, and Sf. Ioan Square will be adorned with twinkling lights. The City Hall building itself will be transformed into a gingerbread house wonderland!"
