The much-anticipated Binger Winzerfest is set to return to Bingen am Rhein from Friday, August 29th, to Sunday, September 8th. This 11-day wine festival, themed "Sun in a Glass", promises to be a vibrant celebration of local winemakers, music, and culinary delights.

The festivities will kick off on August 29th at 6 PM on Bürgermeister-Neff-Platz, with an official opening by Mayor Thomas Feser and the Binger Weinsenat, accompanied by the duo Alex & Lea Funk. Fourteen local winemakers will serve their wines throughout the festival, offering visitors a taste of the region's finest produce.

A music programme will be a significant part of the event, with live performances scheduled daily. Highlights include a music fireworks display on Saturday, August 30th, and a romantic firework show on Wednesday, September 3rd, when a bridge festival will also take place on the Nahe.

For those seeking a unique wine tasting experience, the Riesenrad-Weinprobe (ferris wheel wine tasting) and Winzerfest-Weinprobe (winemakers’ wine tasting) should not be missed. Tickets for these special events can be booked via email at [email protected].

A funfair will start daily at 2 PM (12 PM on Sundays), and local caterers will offer food throughout the festival. Five festival sites in Bingen will open daily from 3 PM (12 PM on weekends).

The Winzerfest parade, a traditional highlight of the event, will take place on Sunday, September 7th. New groups are explicitly welcome to participate in the parade, with creative interpretations of the theme "Sun in a Glass".

For an exclusive wine tasting experience, the "Princess-Schwätzerchen" event on Friday, September 5th, at the Hildegard-Forum, offers a four-course menu, a sparkling wine reception, and twelve selected wines, hosted by the Binger Weinmajestäten. Tickets are available for 91 euros per person, including shuttle bus service.

A limited-edition Winzerfest pin, priced at three euros, will be available for purchase from mid-August at the tourist information office and at the festival stalls. This souvenir pin is a must-have for any Winzerfest enthusiast.
