In the heart of winter, an avid collector embarked on an exciting journey to acquire a unique piece of history. The individual, who frequently follows online for-sale and estate auction sites, stumbled upon an E. Ingraham Grecian time and strike shelf clock in early January 2021.
The auction house, known for its specialisation in art and Canadiana, with occasional clock offerings, was the perfect platform for this rare find. The individual, who considers this auction house to be "the better auction house," was thrilled to place a successful bid for the clock.
Despite having to travel three hours to pick up the clock from another part of Nova Scotia, the collector was undeterred. The reserve bid for the clock was a modest $75, and the individual was more than happy to pay that amount. Nova Scotia is home to several auction houses that specialise in fine and antique items, often emphasising high-quality, collectible pieces. While the specific auction house in this case may not have been explicitly named, it is well-known for offering premium items.
The collector's passion for clocks is not new. In fact, the individual had already purchased another clock from the same auction house in February 2021. This collection is not just a hobby for the individual, but a labour of love. The collector has even sold a few clocks locally in the past year to reduce their collection.
As the collector and their wife took a small staycation during the trip, the acquisition of the E. Ingraham Grecian clock added an exciting chapter to their vacation. The collector expects to be pleased with the purchase and looks forward to adding this beautiful piece to their collection.
