Autumn festival in Giessen kicks off on the 27th of September
The Giessen Autumn Fair is set to return from September 27th to October 5th, 2025, promising a week-long extravaganza of thrilling rides, sweet treats, and special attractions for all ages.
The fairgrounds, located at Ringallee, will officially open at 1:45 PM on September 27th, led by Mayor Frank-Tilo Becher. On the opening day, all rides will be free between 2:00 and 2:30 PM, and carousels will have a 50% discount, while merry-go-rounds and show attractions will have a 20% discount.
Younger guests can enjoy rides like the "Crazy Construction Site" children's train or a journey through fairy tale land on the "1001 Nights" carousel. Babies can take their first flight on the "Baby Flight". For a spooky-sweet moment, young fair visitors can engage in pumpkin carving with Clown Ichmael from the Circus Tent from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Family Day.
The fair's special actions include Family Day, Volunteer Day on September 30th, and the traditional fireworks display. The grand fireworks display will take place on Thursday, October 2nd, around 9:00 PM. Presenting a volunteer card at the Ferris Wheel will result in a free ride for the volunteer and a companion, along with a small snack.
On Family Day, there are attractive discounts for all guests from 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Carousels will have a 50% discount, merry-go-rounds and show attractions will have a 20% discount, and at least 20% discount on three selected items or offers at other stands.
A free registration for the Giant Wheel Mini Picnic will be available on the Instagram channel starting September 23rd, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
