Association's National Capital Region Chapter Recognizes ACC CEO Veta T. Richardson with 2025 Exceptional Career Achievement Prize
Veta T. Richardson Honoured with Outstanding Career Achievement Award
Veta T. Richardson, the President and CEO of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC), has been recognised for her significant contributions to the legal profession. On July 16, 2025, she received the prestigious Corporate Counsel Award for Outstanding Career Achievement from ACC's National Capital Region (NCR) Chapter.
The award ceremony took place at Westwood Country Club in Vienna, VA. The ACC NCR Board of Directors presented the honour to Richardson, acknowledging her instrumental role in ACC's growth to over 50,000 members spanning 117 countries.
Richardson's leadership has steered ACC towards connecting members to the people and resources necessary for personal and professional growth. Under her strategic direction, ACC expanded its presence throughout Europe and launched new chapters across Asia, Canada, Latin America, the Middle East, and Australia.
Richardson's dedication to empowering the next generation of legal talent is evident in her roles as a community builder, respected educator, and award-winning thought leader. She led efforts to establish ACC NCR's Street Law partnership, engaging high school students in legal literacy and education.
In addition, Richardson has been named for her role in launching ACC NCR's Corporate Scholars Program, which has facilitated internships for over 200 law students. This initiative, started with early grants awarded by Richardson, has provided valuable opportunities for young legal professionals.
Prior to her tenure at ACC, Richardson served as president and executive director of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA). Her thought leadership at MCCA laid the foundation for transformational diversity and inclusion efforts across the legal profession.
Richardson's accomplishments extend beyond the legal field. She is currently an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center and has authored an Amazon bestselling book titled Take Six: Essential Habits to Own Your Destiny, Overcome Challenges, and Unlock Opportunities. Moreover, she serves as a board advisor for two legal tech companies.
