Wiesbaden Kickstarts Swimming Project for Refugee Children

Wiesbaden, Germany, is set to launch a swimming project aimed at teaching refugee children and young people how to swim safely, starting on Monday, August 25. The initiative, a collaborative effort between civil society, administration, and club sports, is a significant step towards integrating children who often arrive under difficult circumstances.

The project, symbolically handed over by Wiesbaden Economic Forum e.V. and Wiesbaden Swimming Club 1911 e.V., is funded by the Wiesbaden Economic Forum e.V., which places a strong emphasis on education, integration, and equal opportunities as part of its social engagement.

The swimming courses, to be held at the ESWE leisure pool, are for children aged 10 to 15. Qualified trainers from Wiesbaden Swimming Club will conduct the lessons, providing not only an essential life skill but also self-confidence, participation, and joy.

For Dr. Becher, the project's importance lies in the exceptional commitment shown by all those involved. The city's social and administrative services will ensure the target group is reached, making the project a significant contribution to the well-being of Wiesbaden's young residents.

Swimming projects for refugee children share common goals. They aim to foster integration and socialization, provide physical and mental health benefits, and offer skill development opportunities. Such projects can also serve as a vital educational tool, promoting water safety, and foster community building.

The Wiesbaden project is no exception. Club members are particularly invested in the initiative due to its focus on refugee integration through sport. In fact, the project aims to provide a new sporting home for a group of refugee Ukrainian elite swimmers, as well as other children.

The project's commitment is evident in its lack of secure external funding, demonstrating the club's dedication to the task. A further round of swimming courses for children aged 5 to 8 will start from Saturday, August 30, at the Kleinfeldchen.

For more information about the project, citizens are encouraged to contact the Press Office of the State Capital Wiesbaden. The swimming project in Wiesbaden is a shining example of how collaboration and commitment can make a real difference in the lives of refugee children and young people.

This swimming project in Wiesbaden, a collaboration between civil society, administration, and club sports, is not only about teaching refugee children how to swim but also fostering a lifestyle that promotes socialization and outdoor-living through home-and-garden activities, such as spending leisure time at ESWE pool or Kleinfeldchen. The project's commitment towards integration and equal opportunities extends beyond swimming lessons, offering a home-and-garden experience for refugee children with its emphasis on joy, participation, and overall well-being.
